GENERAL MANAGER

The historic Middlebury Inn in Middlebury, Vermont is searching for an experienced General Manager. Our current General Manager is retiring, so this is an opportunity to continue the strong commitment of delivering hospitality and creating value for our guests and team members.
Open since 1827, the iconic Middlebury Inn is a member of Historic Hotels of America. The Inn has 71 guest rooms, Morgan’s Tavern restaurant and a variety of meeting and banquet spaces for business and social meetings, weddings, and other catered events.
The General Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Inn’s operations. The General Manager must have an active, hands-on approach to ensuring guest and associate satisfaction, driving revenues higher, and achieving strong financial results. The General Manager will report to and work with the Inn’s owners to achieve the on-going success of the Inn. The owners have a long history of investing in historic hotels, including capital upkeep and renovations. The General Manager is the on-site leader of that effort.
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience with full-service hotels or inns, including at least 2 years prior experience as a GM, Assistant GM or Operations Manager. Experience in Rooms and Food & Beverage operations is a must. Experience with hotel sales is a plus. Additional qualifications include strong communication skills, a proven track record in delivering financial results, experience building a cohesive team and a commitment to exceptional guest service.
This position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $95,000 plus a generous bonus program. The Middlebury Inn offers a comprehensive benefit package which includes medical, dental, 401k and PTO.
