Each of our 70 renovated guest rooms are uniquely styled and in harmony with the inn’s historical character. Rooms feature modern amenities such as high-speed Internet access, cable tv’s, hairdryers, heat lamps, fluffy cotton robes, work desks, and more that combine convenience with traditional elegance.

Historic Inn Rooms

The Middlebury Inn is pleased to offer Standard, Deluxe and Luxury rooms as well as several well-appointed suites in the main historic inn. Each room offers the ambiance and style of our 1827 historic inn, where railroad tycoons, well-known politicians and members of “high society” have stayed and slept for more than 180 years. Standard rooms are our most economical option and include one twin bed or one queen bed. Deluxe rooms are larger and may provide a single queen or two double beds. Luxury rooms are oversized and may include a pullout sleeper sofa and in-room refrigerator.

Porter House Mansion

The Porter House Mansion is an impressive two-story Second Empire house built in 1825 on the north side of the Historic Inn, and which offers 8 guestrooms and 1 luxury suite. The Porter House Mansion is perfect to rent for wedding parties to enjoy while surrounded by their family and friends. The building features a west porch with wicker furnishings and a beautifully detailed doorway with leaded glass. Most rooms have decorative Vermont marble fireplaces and one of Middlebury’s finest curving staircases. The entryway was featured on the cover of The Fifth Old House Catalogue. The Porter House Mansion also has a wheelchair-accessible guest room.

Courtyard Annex

The Inn offers ten rooms in a two-story Courtyard Annex as well as ten additional rooms in a convenient one-story annex building. All of these rooms allow our guests to park and walk into the room on the first or second floor. Most Annex rooms have either one double bed with a twin bed or two double beds. All have a queen size sleeper sofa to easily accommodate a family.

Pets are welcome in our Annex section only. Please be sure to confirm that your arrival includes a pet when making your reservation. There are plenty of trails in the area perfect for exploring with your dog.
